About FastLocator

We built FastLocator because we've lived the lost-dog nightmare.

We're dog owners first. We've stood in the yard calling a name and heard nothing back. This site exists so the next person in that spot has a plan.

You know the moment

The gate is open. The yard is quiet in a way it never is. You call their name, then call it louder.

You check under the porch, behind the shed, down the road. Your heart is pounding and every minute feels like ten. The worst thoughts show up uninvited: the highway, the woods, the stranger who might not call.

We've lived that nightmare. It's why FastLocator exists.

The answer we wish we'd had

In the middle of it, we wanted one thing: to pull out a phone and see exactly where our dog was. When we went looking for that tool afterward, we found a mess of marketing, fine print and subscription fees nobody explained up front. Which trackers actually work out in the country? Which ones die in a day? What do they really cost after the first year?

FastLocator is the straight answer we wish we'd had: real costs, plain language and a clear pick.

What you can count on

  • Our picks are ours. We choose our top pick based on what we'd put on our own dogs. Some brands pay us a commission and some don't, and it never decides the order. How we make money.
  • Real costs. We add the device and the plan together, because the plan is the part that keeps costing you.
  • Testing on our own dogs. We're testing trackers on our own dogs, starting with the Fi Series 3+, and post the results as they finish. Until then, each review says plainly what's based on the brand's own specs. How we test.
  • Dated facts. Prices and plans change. Every price on this site shows the date we checked it.
  • No scare tactics and no false promises. No tracker makes it impossible to lose a pet. A good one makes finding them a lot faster.

What we cover

We compare GPS trackers with a cellular plan: the kind that can show your pet's location from anywhere with a signal. Bluetooth tags and radio collars don't make our comparison tables, and our AirTag guide explains why. We also publish free help for the worst day, starting with what to do if your pet is lost right now.
